    *It should not be necessary to do the accounting for the thousands of samurai under a Daimyo's employ. Suffice to say he has sufficient additional treasury resources through various means such as; raiding, merchant trade, armories, sale of swords, trade in silk, gold mining (the Sado island Gold Rush for example), land taxes, road tolls etc.
